"Separating what belongs together to create something new." This project transcends traditional perspectives, breaking away from the frontal view and the predictable 360-degree circle to enter the intimate, unseen world of a dancer. Using a custom-built rig to dive into the depth of movement, exploring the relationship between space, rhythm, and the body.

Precision in Motion – Choreography Meets Camera Work

The visuals of Fragments are the result of a long process of coordination between choreography and camera. Every frame was rehearsed, refined, and rebuilt to find the exact rhythm between movement and lens. Rather than filming dance from the outside, we worked to create a shared flow—where the camera doesn’t follow the dancer, but dances with them. This approach took time, patience, and constant recalibration. But in the end, it allowed the film to speak not just through bodies in motion, but through a camera that moves with purpose.

Built to Move – Adapting the Camera to the Body

For Fragments, we modified a SnorriCam rig to respond not just to movement, but to intention. Every adjustment was made to bring the viewer closer to the dancer’s perspective—closer to the tension, release, and direction of each gesture. Traditional setups couldn’t provide the intimacy we needed, so we reshaped the rig to move with the performer, not around them. The result is a camera that feels like an extension of the dancer’s body—always in motion, always connected.

"An immersive exploration of movement and space, where dance reveals its unseen beauty through a lens shaped by passion and innovation."
